V-Moda Headphones

I own an iPod, and if there is anything in the technological world I dislike more than Apple’s craptastic headphones I’m not sure what it is.  After acquiring said iPod I immediately took up the search for some high quality headphones.  I looked awhile at the Bose Triport Headphones, but after reading several negative reviews decided against them.  Following some review threads on Amazon.com I discovered V-Moda Headphones.  V-Moda likes to think of themselves as a blending of technology and fashion.  If fact their website says they are all about “the pinnacle experience of music interwoven with supreme style.”  Their headphones are sleek and come in an assortment of colors.  After reading several reviews, all of which were quite positive, I decided to take the plunge and purchase the $80 some-odd headphones.  When the headphones arrived I was pleased to discover that they came in a very nice, compact, leather pouch.  There was also an authenticity card included which I’ve only ever seen on high end designer bags, but hey, why not.  I found the headphones very comfortable in my ears.  They don’t rest deep enough in the ear canal to cause any discomfort, but the silicon padding really seals out other sounds.  The music through the headphones is clear and crisp.  Some of the higher tones can become a little piercing, but not to a debilitating extent.  The balance is really nice, not too much bass, a lot of full tonnage in the middle, and very clear high notes.  The headphones also have great directionality of sound and create their own acoustical space.  The headphones are very sturdy and I’ve had no worry of losing any tiny pieces.  All in all, the initial reviews I read were correct; V-Moda headphones are a step above the rest.
