Stone Brewery's 10th Anniversary IPA

Yesterday on my way home on the orange line they stopped us for mysterious reasons (possibly a suicide, since they never said what happened) and I had to leave and take the green line subway/trolley home instead. Unfortunately that one is under construction so it dropped me off at Brigham Circle where I bought Chinese and a whole lot of beer for my upcoming trip to Maine (we will be doing some wedding afterpartying in my hotel room). So one bottle I picked up was a Stone 10th Anniversary India Pale Ale and this is some of the most aggressive and awesome IPAs ever. It's by the makers of Arrogant Bastard and Double Bastard which are considered almost novelty beers by some but I mean they have the quality to prove they are legit.
Any way I crack this one open and I got hit by this nice malty fruity aroma with orange peel preserves as the most notable. On the pour it was bright copper with a nice protein rich eggshell head, not super foamy but certainly a few fingers of hard to crack crust. As for the taste itself... well the first wave is a mixture of pineapple, cumquat peels and bits of maltyness and bright Latin American coffees. VERY overpowering, very complex. Then the hops and grains hit after with a strong, piney and musky taste. I really recommend this to beer drinkers and I don’t know how long it will be on the shelves. It is 10% APV so I suggest that you sip on some water while drinking if you intend to down a bottle yourself. I wasn’t too wasted but I had eaten like 10 pounds of General Tso's chicken, pork strips and crab rangoons earlier.
