New York Burger Company

I took a trip to New York Burger Co. the other day to round out my venture into the upper-end quasi-fast food burger joints of NYC not really expecting very much. My previous trips to BRGR and Better Burger had been relatively fruitless. New York Burger charcoal-grills all of their burgers fresh to order, they freshly cut their fries, compose their salads on the spot, and create their signature sauces on premises. They use Coleman Natural Beef and natural free-range chicken (I’ll have to check up on these Coleman people at a later date). Oh, and apparently the soybean oil they use for their French fries is cholesterol-free.
I sidled myself up to the counter and ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a drink. At New York Burger Co. this comes as a meal and set me back about $10, which I found perfectly reasonable after the cash trading debacle at Better Burger. The order was prepared quickly and I sat down to eat, but then had to get up again to get myself some condiments. I was pleasantly surprised to see and entire row of pumps full of delicious condiments, including, but not limited to Chili Pepper Ketchup, 1000 island, Chipotle Honey, Creamy Horseradish, Curry Mango, and Maple Dijon (yes, they had the regular old ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise as well). I got myself some Curry Mango, Chipotle Honey, and Creamy Horseradish. The sauces were delicious, if made to “American” tastes (meaning not quite enough spice to be excellent). My one complaint was that the Creamy Horseradish wasn’t thick enough. My burger was quite thick and delicious and had been cooked to a perfect medium rare as I requested. The burger came with lettuce and tomato, but there were plenty of pickles and red onions available at the condiments bar. The fries were tasty too, not too thin not to thick, and quite crispy. Hands down this was the best upper-end quasi-fast food burger joint I had been to in NYC. New York Burger Co. is definitely a place I would highly recommend.
