Mumm Napa Methode Traditionelle Blanc de Noirs

Liz and I had some celebrating to do, as she had just gotten a long sought after promotion.  We stopped at Downtown Wine and Spirits to grab a bottle of reasonably priced bubbly, and the Mumm Napa Methode Traditionelle Blanc de Noirs caught my eye.  It is a sparkling rose-colored wine from Napa Valley and at 23.99 was sure to be decent, but not too stuffy.

The sparkling wine opened with a strong pop and poured a light fizzy blush.  The nose was of fresh roses and crisp apples.  As I sipped the wine, the bubbles washed over my mouth, giving the wine a full and boisterous mouth feel.  Tart flavors of raspberry and fresh fruit made a lively impression, and the wine finished crisp and clean, its dryness notable.  This wine boasted a 12.5% ABV, and so after the bottle, Liz and I were certainly content and bubbly.

This sparkling Napa Valley offering was a treat, with nice flavors and a decent price.  Look this Mumm’s offering up when planning your next celebration if you want a beverage with a more unique character than your average Champagne.
