
Mai Tai Madness!

Liz and I have been in a bit of a tropical mood of late, enjoying ourselves some delicious and nutritious Mai Tais. We looked around on the internet, and borrowing from several recipes, found a nice mix that we could call our own. Just a quick warning: you should only drink one of these if you don’t want to end up stupidly drunk.

For a Connoisseur’s Mai Tai, you will need:
2 shots light rum
2 shots dark rum
1 shot Grand Marnier
½ shot amaretto
1 shot orange juice
1 shot pineapple juice
½ shot lime juice
1½ shots grenadine
Ice
A splash of seltzer
Add the liquors, juices, and grenadine to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Take a big (at least .5 liter) glass and add several ice cubes and a splash of seltzer. Pour the drink into the glass, and you are ready to get your Polynesian party on! We like to use straws, but you can also add maraschino cherries, pineapple and citrus slices, little paper umbrellas, tiki glasses, and anything else you want to make it festive. Drink with care!
