Lab Series Instant Moisture Lip Balm

I went to Sephora the other week looking from my Jack Black lip balm.  I had run out a few days earlier and I was in danger of developing chapped lips and therefore being unkissable, which would be a general detriment to society.  After madly searching through the store for my trusted Jack Black and finding nothing I surrendered my original purchase plans and looked for a new lip balm.  I came across Lab Series Instant Moisture Lip Balm. I’ve used various Lab Series products in the past and had pleasant results so I figured the same would follow for their lip balm.  Boy was I wrong!  Firstly, the lip balm just does not last that long.  I feel like there is no continuing protection from the elements at all.  Each time I applied I felt like I was smearing grease on my mouth.  Grease that didn’t absorb, didn’t moisturize, and just sat there until washed away.  The applicator itself is annoying to use.  It looks like the top of a gorilla’s nipple and contributes to great waste of product.

Since I’ve been using the lip balm my lips have not been chapped, per se, but I constantly feel as if they are on the verge of chapping.  It is a very bothersome feeling – like walking on a tender sprained ankle that is just waiting for you to take the wrong step.  I am continually re-applying because the product wears off so quickly.  I guess this is what I get for buying something that says “treat” on the label.  What’s that all about?

Luckily the last time I passed Sephora I stopped in for a quick look-see and, not only did I find my old trusty Jack Black lip balm, I found it in a new scent!  I purchased the new scent and am only waiting for the day the Lab Series runs dry to start applying.
