Connoisseur Jon's Canton Sidecar

During my last visit to The Fireplace in Brookline, I had a cocktail called the Canton Sidecar.  I enjoyed it so much that I have attempted to replicate it at home, with delicious results.  This cocktail tastes like a Dark and Stormy (Ginger Beer and Dark Rum), but is all liquor and served in a martini glass.  Here is the recipe I use:

2 oz. Trader Vic’s Spiced Rum

2 oz. Domaine de Canton

Sugar-rimmed martini glass

Shaker and ice

Add liquor and ice to shaker.  Shake vigorously.  Pour into sugared glass.  Drink.  Repeat.

Flavors of ginger and vanilla, along with a sweet rim, make this a dessert cocktail.  It is smooth, sweet, and gently warms all the way down.  This cocktail is a guaranteed way to wow your guests and is sure to please all.  Enjoy!
