He is a bit of a hero of mine, the first Critic I was aware of and honestly the one I have to defend the most from people who say "Oh we dont need critics, I'll just go see whatever movie spent the most on publicity".

Ebert has a taste for genre, for science fiction, and can really throw down on those subjects. When faced with a crappy movie, he usually rates it based on what the audience for that sort of movie would think, such as "Well is it better or worse than your average slasher film?"

You know, he does not hold everything up against citizen Kane and snort, he is really open minded.

That is some powerful stuff... I know Ebert is one of your biggest Man-Crushes Javier, its good to see hoe strong and creative he is in the face of such adversity.
